Event Details

The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) administers the nationally recognized Pervious Concrete Contractor Certification program. This goal of this certification program is to ensure that knowledgable contractors are selected to place pervious concrete and thereby minimize the chance of failure.

The Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association and Cement Council of Texas have partnered together to offer this program locally.

This particular event includes a technical training session, an exam review, and written examination. It is intended to prepare and certify contractors, producers, technicians, engineers, and other stakeholders but is also very useful for those simply interested in learning more about the design and construction of pervious concrete pavements. 3 CEUs will be offered for the training course.

The technical training session will be held in the morning (9-12AM) and covers the following topics:

-Basic Concrete Technology

-Pervious Concrete Materials and Mix Proportioning

-Proper use of Tools and Equipment

-General Design Priciples of Pervious Concrete Pavements

-Pervious Concrete Construction

Lunch will be provided courtesy of Mobile-Crete. (12AM-1PM)

A review of the training session will be offered after lunch. (1PM-2PM)

Following, the written examination will be given. (2-4PM)

Those passing with a 75% or greater score, will obtain certification as a Pervious Concrete Technician. With placement experience and additional qualifications, personell can go on to earn their certification as a Pervious Concrete Installer, and Pervious Concrete Craftsman.
